What happened to Questasim being able to save the schematic as a *.do file to allow easy reconstruction of the schematic window with signals and objects?
What is the TCL command to use the schematic.sch file from a do file?

I think you're getting your programs and file types all mixed up here. Questasim is a simulation tool and a .do file is a macro for setting up and running a simulation in that tool. What kind of "schematic" are you talking about? Or maybe you're referring to the Wave window?
I've never even heard of a schematic.sch file.
I'm not sure why you responded. If you don't know what it is or not willing to look it up in the manual, why respond? I'm not getting anything "mixed" up. You just don't know questasim as well as you thought. I would expand on your questions but it wouldn't make any sense until you read about what I am asking.
Sheeesh!
Actually, this question should be directed to Mentor, as they are more familiar with the tool's internal behavior.
That said, the .sch file refers to the schematic file format, as mentioned in the user guide attached below.
I'll try to reach out to Mentor to see if they can provide a definitive answer. Stay tuned.
For the QuestaSIM GUI, when searched previous documents regarding loading schematics using a .do file but couldn’t find any results. This might be a difference between the QuestaSIM and ModelSIM GUI features.
Could you please share the TCL script you used to restore the schematic from the .do file?
This definitely was a feature of questasim. What happened to asking Siemens about this?
