Hello
I built my new computer a week ago, and when I was testing it with XTU, both POWER LIMIT THROTTLING and EDP LIMIT THROTTLING were showing up, and the CPU temperature was reaching up to 95°C.
I searched online and found a suggestion to disable IA CEP in the BIOS. After disabling it, it felt like a barrier was removed from the CPU, and everything seemed okay.
The only thing I’m concerned about now is that during testing, the PACKAGE TDP reaches up to 165W. And IccMax value is 511A.
Are these high numbers? The CORE Voltage is at 1.2V.
Here are my system specs:
- Motherboard: Asus TUF B760 Plus
- CPU: i5 14600K
- Memory: DDR5 32GB
- Graphics Card: RTX 2070 OC

Hello Al9494,
Thank you for posting in the community. To assist you further, I have a few questions, but first, let me provide some important information.
Please refer to the image below:
Intel has identified instability issues in 13th and 14th-generation desktop processors and has provided default settings to help mitigate these problems. Based on the table, your processor’s baseline and performance limits should remain within the stated values so reaching 511A for ICC Max is quite high.
Before proceeding, please answer the following questions:
- Can you confirm that your current BIOS version is Version 1820?
- Are there any signs of physical damage on the processor?
- Are you experiencing issues like overheating, freezing, random reboots, or BSOD?
- Have you attempted overclocking your processor, either in the BIOS or via an application? If so, please provide the name of the application. Keep in mind that overclocking beyond supported voltage/frequency specifications may void the warranty.
- Besides disabling IA CEP in the BIOS, have you made any other changes?
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

Thank you for the reply.
1) It is 1805
2) It is under the cooling pump now but it was ok
3) Before changing BIOS yes. Only overheating to 95 degrees. After the change, no more overheating
4) No I haven't overclocked. just turned on the XMP
5) I just changed profile to asus because everything was greyed out then just the IA CEP
Thanks

Hello Al9494,
Could you confirm whether loading the default BIOS settings and reverting to the Intel default configuration causes the system to exhibit higher temperatures or experience thermal throttling? If possible, could you try this and let me know the results?
Additionally, are you currently experiencing any issues with your system? Please let me know so I can assist you further.
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

Yes. As I said in the first post with intel default settings, POWER LIMIT THROTTLING and EDP LIMIT THROTTLING were showing up, and the CPU temperature was reaching up to 95°C.
And now everything is fine. This is my workstation and after the change Adobe Premier works so much smoother.
Thank you

Hello Al9494,
Thank you for your patience. I wanted to confirm that you are experiencing performance issues related to thermal throttling. Additionally, could you try installing your processor in a different motherboard or system, perhaps one belonging to a friend or relative? This will help us isolate and further investigate the issue.
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.
