Hello there, I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-A 1N1 (discontinued) laptop.
This laptop have Intel Core i5 4200M processor, it has the FCPGA946 socket, which means i can upgrade my CPU.. I have checked online on different websites and came to know that i can upgrade it to the following processor as it also have FCPGA946 socket. Core i7-4910MQ
I just want to know weather it will work on my laptop properly as there was only difference i saw was the Wattage. My processor i5 4200m is 37(watts) and this one is 47(watts).
i have attached the CPUz screenshots. Please advice weather i should buy this processor or not.
One more thing is that i did the cleaning of the laptop and removed the current cpu so thats why i was curious weather i can upgrade it or not. Thanks

Those are absolutely wonderful screenshots. However, they do not mean anything. You must contact Toshiba, or whoever supports that hardware today, and ask them what processors are supported by that laptop bios. Then, you can select from those processors. Being socket compatible is not enough.
In my opinion, this is a waste of time. Even if you are successful in upgrading, the performance improvement will be minimal.
