Is there a pin to pin replacement of the end of life Altera MAX3000 series, EPM3128ATC100-10N to be more precise?

Hi Rolf, Good day. Yes, EPM3128ATC100-10N was obsolete. You may refer to the PDN1709 for more information. https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/pcn/pdn1709.pdf There is no direct drop in replacement for the obsolete Max 3000A device. You are recommended to use the newest CPLD devices for your design. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/programmable/max-series.html Thank you

So there is MAX 2, 5, and 10. Which one would be easiest to replace the MAX3000 with? This is a medical application so no more obsolete stuff in 15-20 years from now….

Check out the Microchip/Atmel ATF15xx series. They offer a conversion utility from Altera POF to JED files to program their devices.

See: https://www.microchip.com/design-centers/programmable-logic/spld-cpld/tools/software/pof2jed and associated App notes.

According to Microchip the ATF1508ASV-A100 (current production device) replaces the EPM3128ATC100 and is supported by POF2JED

Just wanted to say that for our application, we replaced EPM3064ATC44-10N with Microchip/Atmel ATF1504ASV-15AU100 using the POF to JED conversion utility, ATMISP software, and the programming cable ATDH1150USB.

Our application was not running at very high speed, so even with the difference in speed grade of the devices, the application still appeared to work correctly, at least with just functional verification testing.

Thanks for the good lead @ak6dn .
