Hi all!
There is a problem with Ethernet Blaster II. At one moment we couldn’t connect to it; we couldn’t open administrative page and status LED was blinking green light more than 5 minutes without any changes. After hard reset we expected that all would be good, we connected Ethernet Blaster II to a PC using a standard cable, tried to open web page with default IP 192.168.0.50 and corresponding subnet 192.168.0.X, but could not do it even after hard reset. Status LED was blinking green light as trying to obtain an IP address. We checked voltage values on pins of Marvel 88E1111, all voltage regulators, which provide 1.2V, 1.7, 2.5V, 5V; also oscillators were checked and compared their voltage values with voltage values of a board Ethernet Blaster II with the same Part Number, but another Serial Number. Voltage values were equal. Moreover, flash memory (256P30BF) was checked and some mismatch were found. It could be seen at the table 1. Each voltage value in this table corresponds to the voltage on the pin of the chip (bottom view). On the figure 1 there is information from the datasheet about chip pins. Voltage values are different on pins, which correspond to address bits. At the moment of initialization address of incorrect working Ethernet Blaster II reaches higher value than address of working Ethernet Blaster II (look at the table 2). This is strange for equal firmware. Maybe this is the reason of our problem.
We tried to upgrade the firmware, but firmware on the official site is only for administrative page. We can’t open administrative page therefore we can’t download firmware on the Ethernet Blaster II. Format of firmware is .rbf together with image file, this format can not be downloaded to Ethernet Blaster II with Quartus Programmer. Maybe there is a way to convert .rbf to sof-file and upgrade firmware on the Ethernet Blaster II or maybe somewhere there is firmware in .sof or .jic format or maybe other solution.
If somebody know the reason of this problem please help us! Thank you in advance!

Hi IDeyn,
May I know since when did the EthernetBlaster II started to fail (power up and stuck with Green LED blinking state)? You did mention that you were able to use the EthernetBlaster II cable before. When did you purchase or received the EthernetBlaster II cable?

Nooraini

Hi NYusof_Intel,
We purchased EthernetBlaster II approximately at march 2018. After recieving it, we used it for several months. He was connected to the development board and does not move. One day we were unable to connect to it. We have a second EthernetBlaster II that still connects to the PC successfully.
Best regards,
Ivan

Hi IDyen,
Can you provide some pictures or video showing the EthernetBlaster II is stuck in initialization mode (green LED blinking continuously and never change to steady green light) after power up? Have you try to test the EthernetBlaster II connected with other DHCP server/network if the EthernetBlaster II can detect the IP address?
Regards,
Nooraini

Hi NYusof,
As about videos, here are the links:
- Non-working https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUEnsbJVFOo&feature=youtu.be
- Working https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mJjK7rAQQk&feature=youtu.be
Yes, we tried connecting EthernetBlaster II to the network with another DHCP and the network without DHCP. Always compared EBII with the working one, cause we owe also the working EBII.
Best regards,
Ivan
