Hi
I am a newbe in using Quartus II ver 13.0 sp1 with DE2 board. When I try to use new project wizard to create a new project and it takes me to page 3/5 where device family and specific device is to be selected, I am able to select the device family (Cyclone II) but under "available devices" the software does not give any option. The table does not have a single device listed. Tried to re-install device support but the problem still not resolved. Any ideas/help will be highly appreciated. Thanks bokhariaaLink Copied

By the way, I tried with my QII 13.0sp1 windows version, I am able to select the CII device and create the project. Probably you might want to check if there is any anomaly with the filters at the device selection page or try to reinstall the whole QII software to see if it helps. By the way, just wonder if you have had a chance to try with other QII versions to see if same issue observed?

Thanks.
I did try reinstalling but the problem still existed. However it has now been resolved. Turns out that the system administrator moved the license file and the software, not finding the file, would automatically start a trial version which does not support devices. It seems an error/warning message was displayed for a very short period and then immediately covered by the main window of the software. I even tried to move the main window to look for the message but it was not there, however it led me to think about the license file and specifying the correct location resolved the problem.- Mark as New

Hi,
Glad to hear that the issue has been resolved by fixing the license directory. Thanks.
