The **LATEST** MPSS release KNC_gold_update_2-2.1.5889-14 (dated March 7 2013) is now available here:http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-manycore-platform-software-stack-mpss

This document can be navigated to from http://software.intel.com/mic-developer and going to 'Tools'.    From now onwards we will maintain that document as the 'go-to' place for the MPSS.

The last 1-2 archived versions of the MPSS can be found here: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-manycore-platform-software-stack-mpss-archive

Older information follows....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Previous "Gold" MPSS 2.1 Initial Release, version .4346-16  / Nov 2, 2012

These KNC_version_OS.gz downloads correspond to the particular build for the given operating systems while the readme.txt and install.txt files apply to all.

More information and instructions are in readme.txt, releaseNotes.txt and install.txt.

Please note: the MPSS download files marked '.gz' should end in '.gz' when downloaded; most browsers leave the extension alone, but Windows Explorer may rename the file. If this affects you, we recommend renaming the file to the proper extension after downloading.

Source code: gdb downloads

The gdb download is now included in the MPSS download above, so it is no longer needed as a separate download.

Thanks James The main package - KNC_gold_update_1-2.1.4982-15 - is indeed available and accessible from the open source site your quote and from the registration center, as part of the Parallel Studio pack, but it lacks certain features, unfortunately. And they are essential to use Xeon Phi efficiently at any HPC system. The missing packages in the previous release were called KNC_gold_isv-2.1.4346-16 which contains intel-mic-sysmgmt-devel RPM and KNC_gold_llapi-2.1.4346-16, which contains intel-mic-llapi RPM. The latter is needed, at least to us, in order to build Torque with Xeon Phi support. And I don't know how to get it. Is there any place I can access those packages asap? cheers, Andrey

Hello Andrey,

Have you been able to find the package intel-mic-sysmgmt-devel-2.1.4982? We also need it.

Thank you

Hello Andrew,

The packages you speak about are needed in order to improve the performance or just to make to work something? I'am asking beacuse I installed this MPSS version but unfortunetly the performance was worse so I downgraded the MPSS to 4346-16 version.

Is there a newwer version of MPSS? (newer than 4982-15).

Thank you,

Cristina

4982-15 is still the latest available.   We will always announce and post the latest version in this page: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-manycore-platform-software-stack-mpss   (accessible via http://software.intel.com > Tools & Downloads > MPSS link).

to answer the other question in this forum thread:   the *sysmgt* and *llapi* packages will be made available in the next MPSS release (keep checking on the aforementioned page regularly).   I will defer to the documentation that will come with the packages on what they're most helpful for (but yes, may be useful for optimization purposes)

Hi GHui,

You can also visit the MPSS Archive page (https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-manycore-platform-software-stack-mpss-archive) where you can download the last two previous versions of MPSS 2.1 . Thank you.
