meteor lake thunderbolt 4 compatibility issues

Good afternoon!

I have an egpu aoostar ag02 dock with nvidia rtx 5070, and I'm trying to connect it to an honor magicbook art 14 with intel ultra 7 155H on windows 11 24H2. But when I connect it via the thunderbolt 4 port, I get the error system event:

The Intel(R) ISH Offload Item Service is terminated due to an error. The I/O operation was interrupted due to the end of the command stream or at the request of the application.

with this error details:

EventData param1 Intel(R) ISH Offload Item Service param2 %%995 4F00660066006C006F00610064004900740065006D0053006500720076006900630065000000

After that, the egpu turns off, and Wi-Fi and the touchpad are also turned off for a while. This behavior continues every 5-10 seconds when the egpu is enabled on the thunderbolt 4 port. (The Egpu is detected, connected for 2-10 seconds, then the error described above occurs and so on through the cycle)

I found a similar behavior and the same error in this intel support section: https://community.intel.com/t5/Thunderbolt-Share/Lunar-Lake-thunderbolt-4-compatibility-issues/m-p/1653949#M76

However, the intel ultra 7 155H processor that is installed on my laptop belongs to the meteor lake generation, but it has the same problems, and I want to solve them. How can I fix this?

It is
noteworthy that there is no such problem when booting through safe mode. Through safe mode, it was even possible to install drivers on the rtx 5070 graphics card, but in normal mode, the cyclic error behavior did not change.

Hello D_Moses,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

It appears that you're having issues with connecting the EGPU to your Honor MagicBook Art 14. Please be informed that product you are reporting is an OEM original equipment manufacturer device. Kindly take into consideration that our support may be limited since we are not familiar with the technology, settings and customizations that the OEM has designed on your system, However I will do my best to assist you with your concern.

To address this properly, please share the information below.

1. Was this working fine before?

2. Have you confirmed that the laptop is compatible with eGPU configurations?

3. Does the system operate normally when the eGPU is disconnected?

4. Does the system's performance vary depending on whether it is plugged in or running on battery power?

5. Have you checked this with other system to see if issue will persist?

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards,

An update to Windows 11 released at the end of July addresses this issue.
