AX210 Wifi6E limitation with Country code

We came across that the AX210 card can access 6GHz wifi only when country type is detected as US. When type = World or Canada, the 6GHz radio will get shut down.

Is there a good way to force the country type to "US"?

Hello @GordonLo

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to understand better this request and provide you with the proper information, could you please confirm the following details?

1- Is the Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210  the original wireless adapter that came pre-installed on the computer? Or did you integrate/replace it on the computer?

2- Are you located outside of the United States?

3- Did this (default) configuration work fine before? If yes, was there any recent hardware or software change (e.g.: BIOS, OS, or driver updates) that may be related to the point when the issue started?

4- Router and/or Access Point (AP) maker and model(s):

5- Is this behavior occurring on a Linux-based operating system (OS), on Windows OS, or on both (dual-boot)?

Thank you for the response.

I am looking to use it on an industrial application, where we will be validating wifi-6E connections of tens of thousands of APs a day. We cannot afford to shut down production due to a rogue device (perhaps from a different country) powered up nearby or accidentally.

I am looking for a solution where we can force the AX210 card to use US country code only.

1. The Wi-fi 6E AX210 card is installed on a raspberry Pi running Linux.

2. We are in the United States.

3. The device is working correctly most of the time. But we have seen wifi6E disabled due to change in Country code.

5. Run linux on Raspberry Pi. But we find the same behavior using Linux PC.

Hello GordonLo

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

After reviewing this request, we would like to inform you that the wireless cards scan automatically their current location and adjust according to the access in those countries, we can not force a wireless card to be set permanently to the "US" as it has to comply with international regulatory specifications.

Having said that, we will proceed to close this request. If you need any additional information, please submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored. Thank you for your understanding.
