I am getting Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX 201 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5 Combo (Gigabit file transfer speeds, MU-MIMO supported in my new computer. I also have the cox panoramic modem and router. My question is will this new hardware work with my current modem?

Secondly I would like to know what hardware I should have in a router and modem to get peak efficiency? Thanks

Your motherboard and processor must have CNVio support.

Your Router has to include Wireless-AX support. Its firmware needs to have both Wi-Fi 6 and Wireless-AX support enabled.

Your modem should be fine as it is.
