Hello Oscar,
Unfortunately, bowing away the laptop (and all associated data) is not possible. The system is very new and has never been opened or had the wireless card tampered with. The OS is Windows 10 and regularly receives updates from Microsoft.
Regarding the BIOS, I would assume that Wi-Fi is turned on sice it works most of the time. The current driver is 20.70.7.1
It looks like these cards (Intel AC8265) have other issues as well (WiFi hotspot fails). For example we have several P52 Lenovo laptops like this one, and none of them will accept a WiFi connection to its mobile Hotspot from a Samsung J337. We've tried several J337s which connect fine to other WiFi hotspots and APs. Other wifi phones will connect to the Thinkpad hotspots. -Just a really buggy card. Intel should try testing this crap before they ship it!!!

Intel 8265 fails to detect any Access Points
I have an AC8265 card running 20.70.7.1 driver installed in my Lenovo P52 laptop. Lately I'll be in the middle of a video conference and it just ends. When I click on 'Networks' in the connection panel the card doesn't see ANY wireless APs/Routers.
It's like I'm in a screen room (I know there are at least 15-20 APs in the area). I try turning Wi-Fi on and off a bunch of times, and eventually it gets it's brains back, sees all of the APs, and connects. Is anyone else seeing this issue? Happens a couple of times a day now.
