I would like to have more information related with your issue, I would like to know the operating system that you are using, version (32 or 64 bit) also the model of your wireless card and the version of your driver if possible.
I will try to help you solve this issue but I need details and what are you trying to do exactly.
Thanks

Windows 7 64 bit
Intel® WiFi Link 1000
Driver 15.1.0.18
I don't know whether this matters, but after upgrading the driver under my device manager the network card isnow listed as:
Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000.
Before, it was listed as
Intel® WiFi Link 1000
This is the dowload page.

I am having disconnect issues once in a while and wanted to try using the Intel ProSet utility.

Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software on Windows 7* does not include the application interface you were used to seeing in Windows XP*. There is a different software download available that includes the interface you are used to but it's for IT Administrators. Unfortunately the 15.1.0 files are unavailable so you would need to uninstall your current software and install http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3229&DwnldID=21048&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%c2%ae+Centrino%c2%ae+Wi-Fi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%c2%ae+Centrino%c2%ae+Wireless-N+1000eng 14.3.1.

I am losing my internet connection every few days. I need to reboot my computer for it work again.
Is there any chance by using the ProSet wireless utility instead of Windows 7 connection utility will
make the connection more stable or is 100% certain there is no chance it will help.
Here is the history.
For two years after I bought my system, I didn't have a problem. Now I am having this problem.
Could this be a hardware issue?

You mention that it does not include the application interface seen in XP.
Even though I don't see the appllication interface, does that mean my internet connection is connecting using the ProSet wireless utility and
I just don't notice it?
