Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered

Hi. I know this question has been asked many times, but many are unanswered. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545, Window 7 64 bit. Just yesterday, my laptop kept blacking out, freezes and then unfreeze and this message would pop up saying, "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows XP(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." It keeps happening around every 15-30 minutes. Sometimes, it totally blacks out. Other times, it unfreeze but the windows are blank. Someone please help me. The display adapter I have is Mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family." Some people said online to update it and that might fix the problem. I went to the Intel website and updated the lastest one given, but the problem is still here. I've restored my laptop to a certain restore point, but still did not solve the problem. Suggestions and ideas? Thank you a head of time.

i have similar problem i very new here my goes to blue screen a nd shows physical dumping when ever i paly youtube or streaming videos and it freezes and crashes need help i have given the report of dxdiag

I have this problem too. I was using the driver supplied by Asus (9.17.10.2884) and driver would keep resetting itself after loading Mozilla Firefox (latest). I found that the problem was due to hardware acceleration being enabled in firefox. I since updated the driver to latest (9.17.10.3071) and I can now run Firefox with hardware acceleration..

The problem i'm now having: playing the game Ragnarok 2 with the intel gpu, I get the same "display driver has stopped responding" so the root cause must be similar to whats happening with Firefox... other games are working however (although some DX11 benchmarks are not)

tl;dr: please fix this bug!

p.s. running Win7 64bit

I took out the other graphics card, so i'm left with just the integrated graphics. on another note, Firefox won't work properly with h/w acceleration on and Internet explorer has the same problem, however Google Chrome works fine.

Make and model: built myself, the motherboard is an Asus P8Z77-V LX with an Intel i5-3570k.

i use chrome but tried other browsers too, but same problem.

Intel graphic card driver itself crashing (stopped responding), screen turns to black and after few sec recovers itsel but i have to reload the game every time when it crashes.

Having the same error, updated my Nvidia driver hoping that would do it and tried some intel drivers aswell but the problem is still there.

The weird thing is when I'm playing a game like for exemple World of Warcraft I have no problems at all, but when I close it and just use my laptop for everyday browsing and whatnot I get the random screen flickering/changing resolution with the 'Intel graphics accelerator driver has stopped responding' error.
