Windows* 7/8/8.1 Driver (32 & 64 bit) Version 3345

Greetings everyone!

We have officially launched our latest driver supporting 3rd and 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD/Iris™ Graphics for Microsoft* Windows 7, 8, & 8.1. The version is 3345 and is available at the following locations.

32-bit: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23406 Download Center - Release notes http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23406/eng/ReleaseNotes_GFX_3345_32.pdf here.

64-bit: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23405 Download Center - Release notes http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23405/eng/ReleaseNotes_GFX_3345_64.pdf here.

Also; http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033838.htm Windows* 8/8.1 Graphics FAQ.

Please provide only constructive feedback here. Harassing comments, needless insults and personal attacks are not permitted, and will be promptly deleted.

If there are issues that carried over from previous drivers that you are still experiencing, feel free to announce them again here. However, we are all mostly aware of some of these, so I will list them here;

NEW: The driver reports that you have support for DX11.2. This is incorrect, you have support for DX11.1.

CURRENT:

  • Users with 3rd party cards installed alongside Intel graphics are experiencing various degrees of Code 31 and Code 43 issues. These are being actively investigated, and we are working with 3rd party vendors to resolve them. The latest we are aware of is that AMD* drivers are force-unloading our drivers, resulting in various issues such as loss of multiple-displays, brightness controls, etc.
  • Users with only Intel graphics are experiencing various degrees of Code 31 and Code 43 issues. These are being actively investigated, and we are working with Microsoft* to resolve them.
  • Users are having Display Audio failures either over an AV/R, or via a straight through connection to their audio enabled display. For starters, you need to uninstall the 3316 or later driver from your system, and install the one we provide via the Intel Download Center links posted above. When you receive a graphics driver automatically via Windows* Update, it does not include the Display Audio driver that is supposed to be packaged with it. This can result in unstable audio errors.

if I have missed any, it is not because we are not aware of them! However, please feel free to remind me of them regardless.

If you are having trouble with installing the driver, it can be for various reasons. Most commonly, it is because your system currently has a driver that was installed by your OEM, and those drivers present various error messages to the effect of "this driver is not suitable for your computer because your OEM said so!". If that is the case, you should follow the http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm Manual Driver Installation instructions to install your driver (this is prefaced by downloading the .ZIP version of the driver from the links above).

I ask that you preface the feedback with a bolded heading so that it will be easier to identify, example: Control Panel: It would be cool if X was added. BUG: This application is now crashing and it didn't with the last driver!

I also ask that you keep focused on this specific driver. Any off-topic/off-driver/off-product comments will be promptly deleted! If you have any issues with installing the driver, or ...

Hi Nic,

Is there maybe an update regarding the issues I got with the black screen delay in the game?

Have you compared the two to see how it works on WIN8.0 and WIN8.1 and saw that these issues are only on 8.1 ?

Thanks

Hello.

I want to report two application incompatibilities with 3345:

1) Cinebench R15 (OpenGL test fails due to OpenGL faulty rendered image compared to the reference image)

Cinebench R11 runs fine.

2) This OpenGL application crashes immediately after run.

Link: http://www.skenegroup.net/fornvidiots/gpudip/gpudip.zip http://www.skenegroup.net/fornvidiots/gpudip/gpudip.zip

This app crashes with iGPU HD2000 of SandyBridge too.

My system is a Win 8.1 Pro x64 - Pentium G3420 - iGPU Haswell GT1 only card (no discrete card)

Is it possible to fix them ?

Since I got no reply for /message/214650# 214650 my post on the Official Black-screen thread, I decided to come here to report that with this driver the black screen occurrences got worse comparing to the previous versions.

Relevant information from that post:

with driver 3345 it became worse: the screen flashes black when doing specific actions (like right clicking on the desktop or browsing through the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel), sometimes it really stays black (like the one that happens after system start-up) and I need to turn it off and on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc08r4Tn4JU This video shows it happening.

I really hope this will get fixed on the next driver release, since Intel seems to make only the latest 2 driver releases available for download. Or at least, if another driver version is released, the 3257 driver will be kept available for download.

I have an ASUS UX32VD (with an Intel HD4000) and I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit).

Alright, so I uninstalled my current Intel 4000 driver, already had the new 3345 driver on my desktop unzipped, and when I rebooted, 3308 just reinstalled itself. How am I supposed to install the new driver manually if the old one reinstalls?

@Grammaton485 -

1. disconnect from the internet.

2. make a search or go to start and type "change device installation settings", open it and change it to:

- No, let me choose what to do

- Never install driver software from Windows Update.

then click on "Save Changes"

after that remove the current driver and install the new one, when finished turn both the internet and the settings back on.

@deSiem: Can you provide a link to the AVS Forum thread you are referencing?

@Michael.Banks: Can you attach a copy of your dxdiag please? (Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Save All Information)

@vpz: Please PM me a copy of the following information, and I will see what I can do;

  • Service ticket # or Interaction Record # with Asus*
  • An updated copy of your dxdiag
  • Make/Model of your system, as well as any external displays you are using
  • A list of reproduction steps both you and Asus* used during the last interaction

@jomegu: Thanks for providing those reports! Let's try a few things first. First, install the latest driver that NVidia* provides for your system. Here's a link to that; http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/70740 Drivers | GeForce If that doesn't work, go ahead and update your BIOS to the latest version as well. Yours is dated for January, but there was on released in March (version: 214). https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ZENBOOK_UX32VD/# support Notebooks & Ultrabooks - ASUS ZENBOOK UX32VD

@Gil.Goldshlager: How would I go about reproducing the issue with multiplayer mode that you are describing?

@Bokefas: As for the intel graphics control panel not working, I have seen this issue as well. I was able to make it happen by installing the 3rd party graphics drivers on the system and then removing them at some point alongside the card. I had to do a full OS re-install in order to allow the Intel graphics control panel to function properly again. I will let you know what I find about this though.

Thanks,

-Nic

Nic, to reproduce the multiplayer issue you will just need to run a multiplayer game by selecting "match making" in the game menu.

Using a i5 laptop with WIN8.1 and only Intel HD 4000 graphics card on it.

but to make it simpler I recorded a new video showing it here: http://youtu.be/YKzf-14CmiU http://youtu.be/YKzf-14CmiU

I already had BIOS version 214. I guess ASUS built this version in January but only made it available in March.

After installing the latest beta drivers from NVidia I still have the same kind of black screens as those in the video I posted earlier.

@Bramr: Please update the BIOS of your system. Yours is over a year old, and they have since added new embedded controller support with the latest update. Here is the download page for that; https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/N56VZ/# support Notebooks & Ultrabooks - N56VZ

Additionally, you are still using the 3308 driver version. I would recommend uninstalling that and installing the latest we provide, which is 3345. Let me know if there is any improvement after doing these two things.

@Ormalash: Can you go into your BIOS -> Graphics Menu, and let me know what options it has there? We're specifically looking for things along the lines of "Primary Adapter, Graphics Mode, Primary Display" - those types of options. Since your system does not have a 3rd party card, I am curious to see if they have enabled any of those options for you, and if so - which ones. Please also check for a general BIOS setting along the lines of "Reset to factory defaults".

@Gil.Goldshlager: Thanks for yet another awesome video. I would like to confirm this bug on my end as well - however I don't seem to be able to get any additional players in order to actually start the round... I have sent you a friend invite on Steam though if you will be available at some point to help me repro this issue.

@jomegu: Similar to what I'm asking from Ormalash, can you provide a picture or a list of BIOS settings you have for your system that relate to graphics, as well as whether or not there is a "Reset to Factory Defaults" option?

Thanks,

-Nic

Hi Nic,

Yes I was trying 3308 drivers because i had those before the problem occurred

Anyway i have installed 3345 now and allso upgraded to the latest BIOS version from the Asus website (217).

There is an option to reset to the default settings. I tried it, but it didn't help.

Inside the Graphics Configuration there was only this option:

It's set to the minimum value, and the maximum value is 512M. I've tried setting it to 128M, but it also didn't help.

I've also tried setting "Wake On Lid Open" and "Power Off Energy Saving" to "Disabled", but it also didn't help.

@Gil.Goldshlager: To clarify what I said before, I do in fact get the black screen shown in the first video if I am doing the single player mode. However, when I went to do multi-player, I did not get a black screen, or the associated disconnect. It might be possible that due to the Internet connection/ping/network latency, that the black screen that occurs for you in multi-player might be the result of associating connections - which could very well be different than the black screen experienced at the start of single player matches.

@Kaveh: Can you also attach a copy of your Intel Graphics Driver Report please? (Ctrl+Alt+F12 -> Options -> Information Center -> Save).

@Bramr: After reverting to the 3308 driver, do you still have a non-functioning internal display? Try updating your NVidia* driver to the latest as well, version 331.93 (you have 331.82). http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/70740 Drivers | GeForce Install both the latest NVidia* as well as our 3345 driver and see if that fixes the issue. Let me know if it does or does not.

@vpz: I will take the info you provided, and see what I can't get done on my end. I'll let you know when I have a status update.

@jomegu: Thanks for testing that option out, as well as the pics. Can you try with the 3308 driver version provided by Asus* and tell me if it resolves your issue or not? https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ZENBOOK_UX32VD/# support Notebooks & Ultrabooks - ASUS ZENBOOK UX32VD

With that driver I no longer get the black screens that were introduced with the 3345. I only get the ones I used to get with the previous drivers: when the screen is turning on, but it stays black (with the backlight on).

Hi Nic,

1) Latest interaction record : ASUS CASEID=RTM20131214200350-653

2) copy of dxdiag attached.

Note: I try all possible combinations of gaphic drivers (with same result), current combination is Intel 3345 and NVIDIA 331.82

3) My notebook:

- OEM: ASUS

- Model : N76VB

- Serial number : D3N0AS069319107

- External display: Samsung SyncMaster C27B750

4)

4.1. My steps:

0) All Win8 updates were installed as it was used autoupdate option from Microsoft

1) Start Win8.1 update

2) After installation - problem with Intel driver - code 43.

Installed Intel driver 3308.

3) remove driver 3308 and install driver 3316 - nothing changed

Note: It was before issue of 3345

4) remove all NVIDIA driver and install NVIDIA 331.65

Note: it was latest stable NVIDIA driver on that moment - nothing changed

5) after issue of Intel driver 3345 I remove all Intel and NVIDIA drivers, install Intel 3345 (immidiately - code 43). Install NVIDIA 331.93

Nothing changed.

6) Then I try all possible combination of graphic drivers Intel (3308, 3316, 3345) and NVIDIA (331.65, 331.82, 331.93) - same result:

a) Intel driver is stopped with code 43

b) NVIDIA drive without any errors.

c) Intel graphic panel is not visible, NVIDIA is visible, but not started normaly.

d) If I use only notebook display, then it shows that it use resolution 1900 x 1080 (Full HD), but in reality it is much lower. If I go to SafeMode then real resolution became 1900 x 1080, i.e as in SafeMode Intel driver isn't used from the beginnning its error not influence on selected resolution.

e) If I connect external display (Samsung C27B750) on already styarted notebook then it is connected with same low resolution

f) If I connect external display and only after that start notebook then it use NVIDIA driver for external disp-0lay with all available resolutions.

4.2) ASUS test.

Note: they use notebook N56VB. It have same combinations opf graphic cards as my notebook, but its max resolution is 1366 x 768.

ASUS test steps:

a) Update Win8.

b) start Win8.1 update.

c) After update everything work without errors.

Intel driver 3308.

d) By my prompt they uninstall Intel and NVID...

Dear Nic,

When updating to Windows 8.1 these drivers were automatically installed. After this installation the internal display of my notebook is not working anymore. There is no picture shown on it (but the backlight does light up).

This happens not only within windows, but starts right from booting. VGA and HDMI output are working fine. When I look at the intel control panel it only sees 1 display which is the external one, the internal is not detected by the software.

I have tried to revert back to older drivers and even installed windows 7 on a second partition, all with no luck.

My system is an Asus N56VZ, i have atached my dxdiag to this post.

Regards,

Bram
