I have a NUC8i7HNK that for some reason is rejecting USB cables, specifically those for iPhone. All my USB devices that I've had since I got the system work just fine - Logitech wireless keyboard, webcam, etc but when I plug in an iPhone cord, I get the warning that there is a "Power surge on USB port" and that the "device needs more power than the port can supply" as a result I can't connect my phone to the PC. This happens on all the USB ports.
I've tried updating all the drivers for USB and it says it's all up to date. Any ideas how I can fix this?

The USB 3.0/3.1 ports can only provide 900mA (per the USB specification). The USB-C ports, on the other hand, can provide 3.0A. Have you tried this cable on any of those ports?

I'll add to Scott's comment that the USB 3.0/3.1 yellow charging port can supply 1.5 A maximum current.
